Leatone - Ukrainian Leather Bags

Hello everyone from Kyiv, Ukraine. My name is Oleg. I am 28 years old, I am a theater and film actor, as well as a master of leather goods. Mine is the story when a hobby turned into a business, especially during the war, as ironic as it sounds. Many paradoxical things happen during war. Filming became impossible, the purchasing power of the population fell, but nevertheless I continued to do my work for two reasons. The first reason is not to go crazy, the second is to survive.

I present to you a special collection of 17 bags I designed and made to compliment the Robert W. Stolz line of fine loden coats. It is special because I started making it on October 10, 2022. This is exactly the day when the city of Kyiv, like many other cities of Ukraine, was subjected to a brutal shelling of the energy infrastructure. Due to which, at the beginning, we did not have electricity and water for 3 days. And then completely uncontrollable schedules of power outages.... If this is not genocide, then what? The light was turned on for 4-8 hours a day. It was a horror that lasted almost the whole winter. So the work that I planned to do in a month stretched out for four long months. Sometimes it seemed impossible, because it took up to 7 days to make one bag.

Despite the constant explosions of anti-aircraft defense systems, explosions in the city, and even more so, not far away, I still continued my work. I could tell you a lot about fear, pain, worries, but my products are not about that. They are about love, hope, patience, and the light that will never go out in our hearts.

I am not writing this text to make you feel pain, I think you have all seen and heard so much, I am writing it to make you feel proud that you are Americans, Europeans, all allies of the free world, helping that we manage not only to hold out, but also to win. I and millions of Ukrainians feel your support in our honest struggle, which will definitely end in the victory of Ukraine.
